Day One of my Reformation/Transformation went well.
One of the things on my personal list is to get up earlier in the morning. Not so that I can accomplish anything exciting other than to be to work on time.
I so struggle with getting out of bed in the mornings. And I can't seem to get to bed any earlier at night - my evenings are just busy.
So, yesterday morning I was up at 6:30am - like I need to be every morning. Usually I lay there until 7:00 and then rush. I mean RUSH!! It seems that everyone else on the roads is late too - why is the traffic always heavier when you don't leave on time???
Yesterday was different!!!! I arrived on time and refreshed.
One of the other habits I am choosing to develop is DAILY studying of the scriptures and more prayer time. I was able to squeeze the reading in yesterday. However, the prayer was continuous throughout the day. Anytime I was alone in the car made for optimum connection with the Holy Spirit. And of course there was pre-service prayer before Youth group last night.
On Day 2 God certainly blessed me. No getting up early for me!! (Except for the phone call at 5:50am letting me know that I didn't have to go to work.) Boy do I love working for the school board - if it's not safe for the kiddies to go to school then it's not safe for me to go to work!! I like it!!!
Mark made us pancakes and bacon for breakfast. I don't think we've had a hot family breakfast with all of us sitting down together, at the same time, since Christmas. It was sooo nice!!
This storm day has given me ample time to read my Bible. I love bonus days where nothing is expected to be accomplished! And anything that is is just a BONUS!
Mark and Jonathan are outside breaking ice on the driveway so that we can eventually 'break out' of here and connect with civilization again. (We didn't have to go to Starbucks this morning like Jen's husband Mark did - we have a stash at home.)
To all of my friends home having a long weekend, ENJOY!!!
God bless,
Rhonda

Way to go Rhonda,
I think that there is a genetic thing happening with the early mornings.
I am so proud of you. Jesus loves the time you spend with Him, and you always reflects his kindness and warmth.
