April Fool's Day

I completely forgot about April Fool's Day today until after I was at church. Jodie informed me that the chairs in the main sanctuary had all been reversed to face the back of the church. Good one!

My creativity level wasn't up for a prank this morning but I must share what I feel is our best one ever. It was March 31st, 2005. Our three children were all asleep in bed. Mark and I were headed up to call it a night. When a terrific thought came to me. Mark agreed and so we set about to make it happen.

We went into Jonathan's and Brittany's rooms and carried each of them, while they slept, and put them into the other's bed. I, of course, carried Brittany. Thankfully Jonathan had not had this latest growth spurt yet. He was however in the eighth grade and certainly not all that light. But, when the outcome is worth it, it is amazing what you can make happen. Including carrying a child that has grown too big to be carried all the while ensuring that he does not awaken.

Morning time ensured lots of laughter and a slightly embarrassed adolescent. Jonathan was moved to a smaller bed in a room nicely decorated in a Princess theme. Brittany was more than excited to share their event with Jonathan's friends on the school bus ride.

We have laughed about this one many times.

My kids and i got quite a kick out of the Maracle children's prank in kid's church...well done!

My Maria was inspired, she put Michael's pillows in the fridge in the basement. they were there for hours. He almost wet himself laughing...then the war was on...i didn't have the heart to let them know it ends officially at noon...they wouldn't have cared.

I hear that the Young Adults were the ones that moved the chairs in the sanctuary, but were giving 'credit' (blame) to the Youth. Hmmmm

I think that this prank has Jodie's name all over it.

Cliff surprised the kids on Sunday morning by telling them that he heard the weather report which said that we were supposed to get 3 ft of snow. The oldest two started hooting and hollering and celebrating. He got so much enjoyment out of saying "April Fools!!"

(I think he was secretly hoping for another snow day :))
