Our day at Ontario Place on Saturday June 2nd was amazing. The weather was absolutely perfect!! We arrived around noon and happened to be going through the gate early enough to still receive arm bands for specialized seating.
We travelled along with our own children Sarah, Jonathan and Brittany, our Pastors Kevin and Shari, two of their children Amanda and Derek, Shari's sister Roxanne, her three children Rachelle, Austin and Rebekah and also Sarah & Amanda's friend Nancy. Throughout the day we saw people from other churches from our city and a large group of our own Young Adults were there too.
We spent most of the day in the water park and enjoyed some Christian bands that were playing nearby in a large tented area. My husband especially enjoyed one of the groups, NewWorld Son.
The concert was scheduled to begin at 7:00pm. The lineup to enter for seating began around 3:30pm. We did not need to spend hours in the heat waiting in line because of our wonderful specialized-seating arm bands!!!!
The concert opened with Starfield. They are an amazing band. I have heard some say that they like them even better than Hillsong United.
Starfield certainly got the crowd excited and ready for the reason that we were there. Hillsong United did not disappoint. The music was beyond good and their energy was contagious. The Molson Ampitheatre at Ontario Place is outdoors and from the stage to the top of the grassy hill we were amongst 11,000 people. I looked around at a sea of people who were all in unison raising their hands and jumping like crazy. Everyone was singing and fully joining in.
Phil Dooley, the Youth Pastor from Hillsong, shared a story message and gave a call. 900 people gave their lives to the Lord!!!!!!! We thought that were going to 'just' a concert to hear a group that we really like. But it was so much more than that. We were worshiping the King of Kings in an atmosphere that He would have been very pleased with. Our hearts were stirred and our spirits were full. This concert united so many people from so many denominations and walks of life in a spirit of worship that will in no doubt bring blessing.

Starfield is amazing. We saw them in concert years ago when they were all just a bunch of teens. Amazing how far they have come in their music and worship
That was such a awesome time!! We were tired and almost wishing that we could stay home and then we went and loved it!! It was so cute to see people of all ages dancing, singing, and praising God!!
Sounds like a great day!
