Writer's Strike

Except for the fact that we were ready for our new season of 24 to begin, I almost wouldn't have realized that there was a writer's strike.

We've been watching old episodes of our favourite shows that we had taped during the busy shopping season (I mean Christmas season, of course.)

Our daughter's have been occupied visiting Star's Hollow. Which translates to watching Gilmore Girls. Sarah is now the proud owner of all seven seasons.

Mark and Jonathan have been watching every loud movie on dvd that we own. My husband went boxing day shopping and purchased his long-awaited surround sound system. I'm just glad that he waited until we moved into a home where my bedroom is two floors higher than the speakers and not directly above it.

The last movie night that they had caused my oven to vibrate. The speakers are directly below the kitchen.

Sometimes I think that with all the re-runs and nothing on tv that really interests me, I would be happy to just suspend it until the strike is over.

I would probably be the only one in my home with this thinking.

For starters, Brittany has a daily requirement of at least three Hannah Montana episodes (re-runs are not an issue).

Oh and don't let me forget the beloved sports channel. The writer's strike certainly does not effect sports.

Our home is very loyal to the New England Patriots and all things football! All else comes to an end and all schedules are superseded by the beloved Pats.

Friends are invited over (not usually my friends), football snacks are served, the seats are filled and the viewers are not to be interrupted (except during half-time).

Here are my two guys in their matching Patriot's golf shirts.

LOL! I was somehow blessed by marrying a man who has ZERO interest in watching sports on television. He'll go see the Astros or the Texasn play on occasion, but generally could care less about sports in general.

Love the pics of the boys....

Rhonda, Mark will be so hurt to find out he is not your friend...or does he fall into the "not USUALLY mine" category?

Sorry I was too tired to come and help distract you while our guys indulge themselves. How about if I help out with Super Bowl snacks?
There is no sense pretending my guys will be waiting for an invite!

Love the picture

Jen - Not, a problem. I've been kind of lazing today.

Mark falls into the 'friend of my husband' category when it comes to coming over to watch football. I know he's not here to see me. :)

Superbowl snacks sound good. I'm sure my husband will be in charge of the menu.
