Youth Sunday

Today was Youth Sunday at church.

This entailed the Youth and Junior High facilitating the main service. Our Youth and Junior High filled all of the regular adult roles.

Some of our Junior High students were enlisted as Greeters. They were waiting in the entrance way and greeting our congregation as they arrived.
We had some Youth boys as Ushers. These boys are really fine young men. It was so great to see the next generation taking on this role.
Our Youth worship team led the worship service. Some of these boys have been with my husband and I since they were in kindergarten.
Our Junior High leaders, Jason & Brandy, shared about their experience.
We then, had a Junior High girl and a Youth girl each give a testimony of what God is doing in their life.
And my husband gave the message.

It's been our dream to see the next generation raised up to serve in the church. They have genuine servant hearts and have learned to show real honour. They are eager to learn and very humble. My husband and I have been so blessed to have had the opportunity to know these kids. We have enjoyed the chance to teach them and lead them. It is so exciting to see them maturing into such godly young men and women.

Raising our children to serve and love God; it's really our mandate, isn't it?

After church, we had our yearly Strawberry Social & Barbeque at a family's home. This ended up to be a little bit of a wet event. However, in-between thunder and lightening, we were able to accomplish the baptism in their backyard pool. It certainly made for a memorable occasion, considering it was the first time ever that we had to endure rain during our strawberry social and it ended up becoming a torrential downpour.

In spite of the extra wet clothes and the dark skies, it was a wonderful afternoon. And I dare say enjoyed by all that attended.

I've already watched the video of the speakers and I agree that the morning was wonderful. What an awesome testimony to the leadership of you and Mark!

I think we left the Strawberry Social just in time! We were running in and out of the mall and the grocery store and were completely soaked just the same, though!

Yes, it was a great service! I love watching the youth take part in things. There always so much fun!
As for the Strawberry social, all I can say was the food was great and I was already at work when the rain started, so I missed it altogether. I'm glad things still worked out.
