Last night my husband and I curled up and watched The Guardian on dvd. Our necessary movie snacks included popcorn and cheezies. (My usual stock of licorice was unfortunately depleted.) My craving for a cola was causing me concern because I knew that the fridge was bare. I decided to check. Just in case. Investigation of the 'pop fridge' proved very fruitful. Inside I discovered a forgotten bottle of Coke. I only needed a small can. But, a 2 litre bottle would certainly do me fine.
I entered the family room, hugging my discovery. My husband smiled knowingly. He doesn't share my cola requirement, however, he doesn't impose his healthy convictions on me.
I don't care for coffee. At all. I will drink an occasional tea. I love a hot chocolate. Especially from Starbuck's. But, I crave a cola.
I'm not being 'politically correct' with the term cola. I actually will drink Coke or Pepsi. I like both. I grew up with only Pepsi in my household and it was my preference. Until I met Pastor Kevin. We began attending his church in 1996. (Now the church where we pastor under his leadership.) We almost instantly became close friends with him and his wife, Shari.
Now, don't you say the 'P - word', as Pepsi is affectionately called by our Pastor. He is a devoted Coke supporter. Through our friendship, I developed a new taste. I suddenly preferred Coke over Pepsi. Our item from the grocery aisle changed from the blue case to the red case. Our friends Paul & Tracey followed the trend closely. They lovingly stocked their fridge with my drink choice. Aren't they awesome??
But, just to keep things confusing, I flipped back to the blue can. I don't know why. I can't explain my own taste buds. I just know what I like. (Sometimes.) This reversal trend has lasted for a few years now. However, along with reverting back I can now openly drink both. I've even held a blue can in front of my loyal Coke supporting friends. The Coke group are a fanatical bunch. Don't you try to serve them the cola from the blue bottle. I've tried. Jason and his wife Brandi are our Junior High leaders. Jason will nicely let you know that if it's not Coke, he's not drinking it.
If we're getting together. I'll make it easy for you. Either Coke or Pepsi will be fine for me.

I don't prefer either...a bit too sweet for my liking (if you can imagine!!)
I can not, however, go a day without DIET COKE!! I can be swayed with a diet pepsi, after I am thoroughly convinced there is no diet coke to be had. I would have to say that I am definately addicted!!!
(I too can not stand coffee...ewe..grosse!)
Either way, a little caffiene goes a LONG WAY!!
I"M TELLING KEVIN!!! The staff will probably have to take this to "prayer".
Actually BK (before Kevin) I loved Pepsi...but I must say that over the years I have come in total agreement with my husband and am a "faithful coke drinker".
Coffee is definatley my first love, then water and if I'm carving a sweet drink - Coke....please the real thing not some nasty "no name" or "diet" stuff.
I say CHEERS with a Red Can in hand!!
Shari
I love coffee but don't drink it everyday. I am spoiled and usually have it because Shaun has made it for me (It tastes better when he makes it)! I don't really enjoy pop, so we don't buy it. But, if we ever have fast food I have Coke or Rootbeer.
Cliff is a coke all the way kind of guy. Me....don't really care as long as it has caffeine in it.
Whenever it is really busy at work (report cards) our pop fridge is full of the red stuff.
It's coke or nothing! I even try to take a mental note of what Resaurants do not have coke...and just may not return there.!lol
Although...there was this time that I took Pepsi flyers and put them all over Kevin and Shari's house!lol The kids helped me with it. (I can't believe I used to babysit that bunch!)
