Are You Having Fun????????

Every Sunday, my husband and I lead the Children's Ministry program at our church. I begin each week by reminding the children of our rules. Rule #4 is Have Fun!

Fun is described in the dictionary as:
A source of enjoyment, amusement, or pleasure.
Playful, often noisy, activity.

Paul tells us to "rejoice in the Lord always" (Philippians 4:4)

God meant for believers to have fun and celebrate. He meant for us to celebrate and have fun because celebrations lift the spirit.

Are you having fun???

I was watching the movie 13 Going on 30. The main character is 13 years old and in an instant becomes herself at age 30. She is a 13 year old in a 30 year old's body.

She behaves like a young teenager with purity and innocence. She enjoys a reckless abandon that regular adults don't seem to understand. Or are unable to give in to.

God wants us to have fun so we can see the beauty and meaning in the life He gave to us.

Matthew 25: 21 - "The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!"

Fun is a valuable gift from God. We should regard fun as more than just fluff time, but rather as a time for opening ourselves to God's revelations, and a time for rejoicing in the joy of the Lord.

I Thessalonians 5:16 - "Be joyful always"

I had some fun this week.

A fun movie date. A fun lunch date. A fun supper date. Some fun moments at work. Lots of laughs and smiles.

Are you having fun???!!!

I think that I need to have more fun in my life than I do...will put that near the top of my next list!! lol

Laughter is my favorite medicine. In the midst of a challenging week in many areas... I also had a huge dose of that "good medicine".

I had fun when "one of my girls" dropped by for tea on Wed evening. Fun reading about Hannah's morning breath. Fun at several gatherings.

Kevin and I are able to have fun over silly things like his "honey do list". Fun on Sunday morning as Kevin shared his DVD story (I still can't believe he's that secure to share that story!! LOL)

Laughter and fun are huge keys - in our ministry and home. Our kids tells us that their friends love to come over as we have the "fun house". I will admit Kevin is better in this department than I ... but I am learning!!
