It was morning and I was still waking up. My husband noticed my eyes were open.
He looked at me and asked, "What are you thinking about?"
I was starting to ponder what I would do 'today'. Wondering what I should accomplish. Normal, first thoughts while coming to life.
But, his question instantly changed my thought pattern. My mind reverted to the previous evening before I fell asleep. I had been reading a chapter from Joyce Meyer's Battlefield of the Mind. Chapter 7, 'Think About What You're Thinking About'.
Joyce says, "Thinking about what you're thinking about is very valuable because Satan usually deceives people into thinking that the source of their misery or trouble is something other than what it really is. He wants them to think they are unhappy due to what is going on around them (their circumstances), but the misery is actually due to what is going on inside them (their thoughts)."
I am a thinker. I enjoy thinking. I like getting lost in my thoughts. However, I have not often 'thought about what I was thinking about'. I have not given regard to the fact that Satan could put thoughts into my mind.

Among these we as well as you once lived and conducted ourselves in the passions of our flesh, obeying the impulses of the flesh and the thoughts of the mind. We were then by nature children of wrath and heirs of indignation, like the rest of mankind.
I have thought about things that keep my mind busy, but aren't necessarily productive in a positive way. I have not been purposeful with my thoughts. I have often been lazy and allowed my thoughts to wander.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things.
Our thoughts affect our attitudes and moods.

Well kinda at you...when you said that you would be in "BIG" trouble this summer....right after you said you were eating Chocolate Cake. Were you trying to be "punny" or was that an accident?!! lol
I am also in "BIG" trouble this summer too, if I don't hurry up and loose extra love handles from Christmas treats!
Ya well girls, I decided that if I didn't do something, I was gonna need a bigger bathing suit... and that is BIG trouble... so, I'm on weight watchers. Certainly not near as much fun as eating chocolate cake.
What I'm thinking about is that I would like to fall right off the weight watchers wagon right into a big pile of chocolate cake. MMmmmmmm lol!
