I'm #2 for sure, BUT giving me about 10 minutes notice is always appreciated. Sooo many of my friends are allergic to my cats and I always try to make sure I do a quick vacuum before company arrives!
Depends on the day - just being honest. I've been in seasons of having an open door but also had seasons of just needing rest and time to regroup.
Rhonda, I have to admit it's #1 because we have a family of 5 living in an old 2 bedroom apartment. I am embarassed (although grateful we have a roof over our heads!). The carpet is old and dirty, the walls are dirty, our couches are dirty from having little children, there is not enough storage room so I feel like the place is always a mess.
Most days I feel on edge, for fear someone will knock on the door and see our mess.
I miss entertaining though. If we had a house, I would love to host get-togethers and holidays and BBQs. Maybe someday....
Depends on who it is...lol. Mostly #2.....but sometimes #1.

I would have to agree with Shari...it really does depend on the day.
I love to have my door always open, and for the kids in the neighborhood it always is, but my frumpy home clothes are not always inducive to having other people see them. HA!!! How sad and true is that? (And honest)
