It's A Matter Of Choice

It's your Choice. Really.

A lot of our circumstances and our life situations are a direct result of our own Choices.

Wouldn't it be better to be excited about getting to live with your choice rather than unfortunately having to live with your choice!

I understand that some of our circumstances are most definitely not a result of our own choosing. Sometimes we are living in a situation that was handed to us. A 'non-returnable'/'non-exchangeable' life-situation gift. Our choice, then, is how we respond. What we choose to do with that 'life-situation' gift.

How many times do we tell our children...'You have to live with your choices!'

So true. And this applies to us too.

We daily make choices that affect the rest of our lives. Sometimes the result is wonderful and other times it can be a burden to have to live with a choice.

Our most important choice is to Choose God daily.

We must surrender our lives to God everyday. If we do not choose God, we automatically choose Satan. Ouch!

It's the process of dying to ourselves daily.

The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. 1 Corinthians 10:13(NLT)

When we choose to surrender our lives to God; we are admitting that we cannot do it on our own. We cannot live life without Him.

God has given us the ability to be protected daily. Through his Word we can choose to daily put on the Armor of God.

10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. Ephesians 6:10-18

I want to have to live with my choice. I want my choice to be to Choose God Daily.

I want to choose God too! What a great post for a Sunday (or any other day). I love when you said, "if we don't choose God, we are choosing Satan!" That's one statement I will definitely remember!

So, so true. So well said, I too want to choose God and His ways for my life. Some choices do come with consequences, some come with regret and some have had great rewards. I choose life, abundant life!!!!!
Love ya Rhonda.......

I love how you mentioned that some circumstances are not a result of our own choosing, but no matter what, we choose how we respond.

Great thoughts ...

Yes, and the older I get, the more I see how little seemingly inconsequential choices do matter--from snacks to wrong turns to unfortunate words. Thanks for the post.

Great post Rhonda. I want my children to see my choosing God daily also. I do ok with giving it to God- my struggle is letting it stay with God and not taking it back.

I am with you! It's kinda weird, I have this choice and everything in me is saying go this way, but I know the right thing is the other way! So last night, I was saying to myself...

I choose Jesus!

I said it several times! So this is a great reminder that I am doing the right thing!

Choose this day who will you serve?

I think of the song... "you may choose the devil or you may choose the Lord... but YOU GO'IN TO HAVE TO SERVE SOMEBODY!!"

You are so right-on, Rhonda. And surrenduring to God is not a strength of mine.
