Shout To The Lord on American Idol

I was visiting Linda's blog at 2nd cup of coffee and discovered this. I missed watching the episode on television but was 'wowed' when I saw this video. A blatant-worship, let's-praise-God-and-give-Him-all-the-glory song was sung!!

I don't think it was commercialization. I think God was given the Glory!! Just think, with all of the millions of viewers, how many hearts were joined together in lifting up praise for Him. Wow!

A show with a message about Giving exalted the Giver, our Lord Jesus Christ!!

I still love this song even though we don't sing it much anymore. It's getting to be one of the oldies. The words are still very powerful.

I pray that all of the listeners were impacted by the words in this song. Isn't it amazing what avenues God will use to get His message across!

I am so disappointed I missed it.
I love that song too, Rhonda.

We were all amazed that they sung this... unfortunately it's going to be a greater challenge for this to happen in Canada.

If I recall correctly during the memorial service for 911 on Parliment Hill they excluded PRAYER... people were NOT happy!!

Since Paul was called out to work I was actually able to watch the show on Wednesday night. The finale of Shout to The Lord was simply amazing and uplifting. It was probably one of the most moving and powerful performances I have ever seen on a reality show. As we all know the Lord works in mysterious and wonderous ways and this is just a small example of the love he has for all of us.

I saw it. It was spectacular...some of the contestants didn't really get it, but there were others that knew who they were "shouting" too--it was great!

I love that song too! The first time I ever heard it, I was visiting a church on a Sunday night. A small town Baptist church that I love, anyway a young lady sang it and towards the end of it I stood up and was just clapping wildly like we did at my home church...by myself!

I loved the song, but I was a wee bit red at the end!

Mark and I saw it and it was INCREDIBLE....I had shivers...the response was amazing!

I think a number of contestants were really singing it to HIM,even if they were not, and it was highly annointed....masses of (mostly I am sure) un-churched...but They sang and God was lifted up in front of MILLIONS!
Things are changing and the "rocks are starting to cry out"...I was totally blessed.

How cool!! I didn't know this.
I've always said that "Shout To The Lord" is a timeless song.
Someday, it will be a hymn.

This is the first time I have heard this song.
Wow!
Praise God in the Highest.
With all the hypocracy and censorship and lack of prayer, I am surprised that this was passed through the producers etc....
Well actually I guess I am not surprised as God can do anything through anyone.
Once again
Praise God in the Highest.
Now that's reality (show) at it's finest.

All I can say is AMAZING...one day EVERY knee will bow!

I wanted to post on this as well but never did!

I have not watched American Idol in a couple years, but I happened to turn it on that night. My jaw was on the floor. I was shocked. Shout to the Lord is one of my favorite praise and worship songs! I hate to admit this, but I was shocked that A.I. and the network chose or allowed this song. I was also excited, because people need to know the Truth, and that is Jesus. Our world is a sick, dark, lost place and it's not too often we see praise music on mainstream television (or anything that is not offensive in regards to God).
