I Like to Bake!!

I don't enjoy cooking. But I do like to bake!

My cupboards are always stocked with my baking essentials. Baking for me is something I like to do on a whim and I like to always have on hand whatever I may need.

Generally, I like to bake cakes, cookies, pies and tarts.

I baked for a small restaurant, for a period of time, a few years ago. They liked serving local homemade treats.

My Monday night ladies group has given me lots of opportunities to share my homemade desserts. Last night was week seven of twelve and each week I have served something different.

Week one - deep dark chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream icing

Week two - peanut butter cookies and oatmeal raisin cookies

Week three - one of our ladies brought Tim Horton's donuts

Week four - sour cream streusal coffee cake

Week five - devil's food cake with seven-minute frosting

Week six - store bought coffee cake topped with homemade warm brown sugar sauce and homemade warm blueberry sauce

Week seven - rhubarb custard pie with meringue on top

Baking for me is fun. I enjoy serving something to my guests that I have made myself.

Remember, if there's no dessert, there's no reason to eat the 'yucky' stuff on your plate.

I like to bake too...except that I"m always "sampling"...so I try not to bake unless I absolutely have too. My will power some days is nil!!

I love to bake too...my pantry is always stocked with plenty of flour, sugar, pecans and chocolate chips! I never know when the mood will strike, or when I might have guests, so it's always good to have the basics on hand.

Your desserts sound great! Your ladies group is lucky....

Your words are those that Emma lives by. The only time she cleans her plate is when she knows that there's some baked treat waiting for her!

Your pie was delicious...Thank you!
Hot "dreamland" tea and Rhonda's pie with hubby....a very nice way to end an eve.
I don't usually eat after supper, but your pie was worth it!

life without dessert is not a life well-lived!
I love to bake too. My husband doesn't like sweets, and I have no self-control when it comes to sweets or junk food, so I don't bake as much as I'd like. If I do bake something, I usually take it over to my in-laws'. My body enjoys the treats, but my clothes don't cooperate.
