United Youth

My husband gets together weekly with other local Youth Pastors in our city. Youth Pastors that represent many different churches and denominations; Pentecostal, Christian-Reformed, Missionary Alliance, Anglican, Baptist, and Youth for Christ.

Every second month, from September to June, we gather all of the different youth groups represented and have a combined United Youth Worship service.

Each church takes a turn hosting. If it is your turn to host, then you also lead worship. Another church group provides someone to give a testimony, another provides the guest speaker, another does a game and another will provide the snack at the end.

Each time we hold the event, each church group takes a turn at doing something different, so that at the end of the school year each group will have taken at turn doing each thing.

Last evening was the last United service for this school year. It was our turn to host and our youth band led in worship.

It was a great evening. The presence of God was there. Our youth band was amazing. (If I do say so myself.) It is wonderful to see all of the different church youth groups in our city joining together to worship God. The teens get to meet other Christians and get to know new friends that might even go to their own high school.

Below are some pictures of the band leading worship last night.

Hello...
I read your post on Vicki Courtney's blog. I'm from
Oklahoma and saw that your daughter is here this summer.
She's not at Falls Creek Youth Camp by chance is she? I'm heading there this next week with
our youth.
I love this post you wrote and I think it's great when all different denominations can worship together.
Have a blessed weekend.

I live about an hour and a half from Tulsa.
My niece went to Dry Gulch last summer and loved it.
Have a blessed day!

Rhonda and Mark
what an amazing night this was.
The youth in this city are so hungry for God. It has been a blessing to me to be part of your team and I thank you both for welcoming me into this wonderful part of our church family.
Blessings and love to you both.

Looks like you had quite a "band"!
That is something I would've enjoyed back when I was a teen. I can't believe I just said "back when I was a teen"! Time flies....

How is Sarah doing (I haven't read your blog in a while---is she still at Dry Gulch?)

What a great thing to do! It also gives so many youth an opportunity to share their musical gifts God has given them! I love it when teens lead worship. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
My son plays drums. Don't you just love when they rehearse at home. :) LOL!
