This is just ohh so true. Even schools have renamed their concerts to Festive Concerts. Everyone is so quick to forget the real reason we celebrate Christmas - Christ!
I had a great conversation with a student yesterday...who brought this topic up to me and declared herself as a Christian. People are getting tired of having their Christmas taken from them and are beginning to speak up. I was able to really encourage this young lady to respectfully stand her ground and told her about Parkdale's Christmas concert. It will renew your hope to hear the unwatered down message of Christmas being sung in a PUBLIC school...and people LOVE it. Pray for the admin and the choir director (Deb) at that school...she has led this concert for many many years, but is all too aware that at any time, the latest "movement" could take over...for now, Christmas 2008, students and parents get to sing/hear the truth of Jesus...they even got to sing for the board office meeting this year! Jesus is still on the throne!
Centennial's Christmas concert was great because they played alot of the traditional Christmas music and the choir sang them. And they wished us all Merry Christmas several times.
And I looked around and not one person looked upset or no one left when they said Merry Christmas.
So stay strong and smile wherever you go this season and wish everyone a Merry Christmas
Several weeks ago some Police Officers and Paramedics were actually in the local Grocery where I was shopping. They were bagging peoples Groceries. After all my groceries were packed for me, I thanked the Police Officer. He looked at me and said:"Merry Christmas!" I must have been smiling from ear to ear and I brightly replied quite loudly: "Merry Christmas to you too!" It made my day!

LOL! I saw this the other day when I was Googling something. Unfortunately, it's too true.
