My Dad turned 65 yesterday. Another milestone in his life. We celebrated with him at our home, along with my Mom, my brother and his two daughters and my sister, her husband and their two sons.
My Dad loves to be with his family. His favourite gift would be to just have us all together. He loves being a grandfather. Brittany gave him 65 kisses, making sure to not miss even one.
My Dad grew up the middle child of eleven siblings. He worked on the family farm and inherited a strong work ethic. He loved farming and driving transport. He did both with passion. He is retired now, but he will always be a trucker at heart.
When I was growing up, my Dad was away through the week and home on the weekends. During the weekends, everywhere he went I was with him. We were a team. I loved that everywhere we went he knew someone and we would make unscheduled stops and visit with whomever. It was always an adventure with him and when we would return home we always gave my Mom creative versions of how our day transpired.
As time went on, we stayed a team and spent quite a few years working a market stand together. Those are my favourite times with him. He taught me valuable skills that I would never have learned in school. And we created wonderful memories that only the two of us share.
I love my Dad and I know that he loves me. I wish him many more birthdays and a life of health, fullness and love.

Thanks so much for "honoring" your Dad. My Dad died at age 60 and that's now over 12 years ago. I still miss him!!
I bless the relationship you have with your Dad and know that you will make MANY more memories in the years to come!!

Beautiful Rhonda.
Now that I have children, the interaction between father and child is amazing to me.
God bless your relationship together.
