Friday Stuff

It's been a great week.

Sunday evening we enjoyed some time connecting with our fellow pastors and their wives from our church staff. So important!! And soo great! We belong to a wonderful pastoral team.

One of our youth girls stayed the weekend. She was off from university and came back 'home' to visit friends. She was with us on Sunday and Monday, then took the train home on Tuesday morning.

Monday was a wonderful day of relaxation. (Our new 'Family Day' in Ontario.) Everyone slept in quite late and then I cooked up some pancakes for breakfast along with some homemade banana muffins. Mmmm. Brittany and I took in a movie together in the afternoon.

Tuesday was back to work/school and the start of a busy week at my workplace. That evening was date-night for me and hubby. (So fun and sooo important!!)

Wednesday was straight from work to my hairstylist. I love getting my hair done. Since I've been keeping my hair longer I don't go as often as someone would with shorter hair, so I look forward to my visits. I was the last client of the day, so my stylist, who is quite chatty on a regular day, took her time and well,.. two hours later I was back home. It was nice to sit and relax and know that she was giving me all of her attention.

Thursday was a bunch of busy at work and home to do laundry and enjoy a wonderful pizza supper. (My favourite food.) I enjoyed two long chats on the phone with friends, in between packing my kids for their Youth Retreat weekend.

I've decided to take some fun music to work and end the busy week on a
'high note'. I continue to enjoy the 'favour' that I have at my work place and know that I am there because God has placed me there.

OK! SO You are packing FOR your kids too....I am thinking the award for BEST MOTHER this year will not be going to Jen Piers!

That's it! I am buting way more treats for the boys to take along....BUY their vote, that's what I will do!!!!

That would be "BUYING"...buting probably wouldn't get me very far with the boys.

Jen....
I'm there with ya girl...I'm married to a man that always had his mother pack for him...and it is one of the few areas that we "fight" about...
Take it from me...you're doing his wife a HUGE favour!! (When he was in college his mom still packed his lunch!!--SERIOUS!)
But...I sure would be afraid that Isaiah would leave with only the clothes on his back..and maybe a toothbrush if I was lucky!! HA!
Thankfully I have a few years until I'm in "jr. high" age......

Well, I figure they have to pack it all up themselves when they come back home....

lol

Rhonda,
I loved that quote from CS LEwis. I haven't read that before.
I am glad that you had such a good week!

Clarification. Jonathan and Brittany packed themselves while I did laundry. I double-checked with them to ensure that they didn't miss anything.

If it matters. :)

LOL...no Rhonda, it doesn't matter!

I do Kevin's laundry (not the ironing though as it's not up to his standards. LOL) Kevin is an excellent packer and I'm not (once again very works to my advantage).
Our kids all do their own laundry and packing.
As I'm writing... I realize you're all probably thinking - exactly what does Shari do? Honestly girls, I don't just sit around all day drinking coffee - honestly!! Kevin would actually tell you I'm a hard worker!! LOL

I'm glad to hear that you had a good week. With all of the stress in our lives, it's nice to have those oasis weeks when everything falls into place and we are completely content!

Here's to another great week!

Jason packed for Brandy and he brought an electric blanket!! What a guy!

Could you tell I wrote the 'clarification' after a super busy day at work, while waiting for the bus to load at the church and wondering where my energy was going to come from. :) Love you ladies!!!

One great advantage to being in music ministry ... you learn how to pack a great suitcase! Both kids packed their own stuff for the youth weekend and I didn't even bother to check. Neither one forgot a thing!
