I've had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend.
Friday after work I came home to a spotless house and groceries that I didn't have to go shopping for. (Actually, I don't usually go grocery shopping at all.)
Mark's parents arrived Friday evening and stayed over for the night. Mark barbecued a wonderful steak supper and I baked a lemon pie for dessert.
Saturday morning Mark made us a yummy breakfast of eggs, bacon and pancakes. After breakfast, Brittany, Sarah and I said our goodbyes to Mark's parents and then headed off to K-town for the day.
Sarah needed to practice her highway driving - so what better way to do that than to take a shopping trip. While I spent the day shopping with my daughters, Mark was home keeping very busy. My husband cut the grass, bought flowers and planted them in our flower beds He bought hanging baskets and put them out in front of our home. He even prepared supper and picked up a dessert too. The dinner that he was preparing was so that we could have my parents over.
The girls and I arrived home with about a half hour left before my parents would be arriving. Mark barbecued chicken and we enjoyed a wonderful supper.
This morning we were at church, where I was blessed to have an opportunity to share during the morning service, along with some other ladies.
After church, Mark took us out for lunch. He had been very organized and made reservations at our next-door-neighbour's restaurant. They were serving a wonderful brunch buffet and we saw a few other church families there too.
At home, my family blessed me with some fabulous gifts. I received the new Hillsong United cd, Gloria Copeland's newest book and a gift certificate for a pedicure & manicure.
I have truly felt very spoiled this weekend and very honoured. I have been blessed to have my family acknowledge me so lavishly.
I adore my family and I love being a mother. It is my proudest accomplishment. I am very thankful for the gift of motherhood.
Please don't feel as though this day is not meant for you if you do not have physical children. We are called to nurture. God has gifted all of us, as women, to mother the next generation.
Happy Mother's Day!

What a beautiful weekend you have had. This picture of you and your children is beautiful, and thankyou for speaking truth today into our lives.
Happy Mothers Day
Sounds like you had such a great weekend. Mother's day is always extra special to me since Bradley was born the day before 11 years ago. I spent my first mother's day in the hospital with our newborn son. This year I got to witness just how compassionate our daughter is. Dance exams were scheduled for the morning of Mother's day. When Emma first learned of this her statement was simply "I can't do my exams this year, they're on Mother's day." Yes, we still went to exams yesterday and I was rewarded by one of the most beautiful letters about what I mean to her. Perhaps I am doing something right!
Love the picture of you and the kids. How special that you got to see both of your moms as well.
Enjoy that pedicure and manicure- how fun!
I also was lavished on quite a bit this weekend and I enjoyed it as well!
I appreciated what you had to say at church yesterday morning, Rhonda. I love how God used each speaker in a different way to speak truths that each of us needed to hear. Just beautiful!
Sounds like a wonderful weekend, Happy Mother's Day!
Happy mother's day to you !
I'm so glad to hear that you had a wonderful weekend! Happy (belated) Mother's Day!

Truly a "BLESSED" Mother's Day!!♥
Thank you for sharing on Sunday morning. So many Moms - each one uniquely called to "nurture" those given to their care. There are no stereotypes with God. We have the FREEDOM to be who HE has called us to be AND teach the next generation to be who God called THEM to be!!
I'm glad you had such a great weekend!
Hi Rhonda,
It sounds like you enjoyed a wonderful Mother's Day. I got a battery operated toothbrush (which I thought was funny) and my husband signed the card YBIC (Your brother in Christ) which I thought was hilarious!!
Oh and I love the picture of you with your kids!
Love,
Kelley
