My Son

I celebrated a birthday last week.

I want to tell you about the gift that I received from my son.

My son, who is entering twelfth grade this year and is soon turning 17, wrote me a letter.

In his letter he stated;

"I love you more than anything in the world!
So this year I am taking you on a date"

Wow! A date with my son...I couldn't have asked for anything that I would have loved more from him.

I had a hard time finishing the letter as my eyes filled and I choked back the tears when I got to the part:
"It's because I want to make the day special for my first love,
the person who protects me, loves me, guides me and who gave me life."

Tonight we had our date.

My son got dressed up and he drove me on our special night together. We went to Boston Pizza for supper and then to a movie. He was every bit a gentleman.

Thank you Jonathan! I love you and am very proud of you! xox

Sniffle, sniffle! What an absolute perfect gift from such a perfect son. I only hope that one day my kids will think as much of me as what your kids think of you.

Treasured memories!

I love Tammy's comment about a great husband in the making. Hmmm ... it's hard to imagine raising our kids to be fantastic people so that someone ELSE gets to enjoy them!!

Regarding my post: I didn't realize there was a "goth" connection either---maybe my daughter is learning too much in first grade! ;)

This brought tears to my eyes reading it! What an amazing thing, to have your baby boy treat you like a princess for a night.

You deserve it all though -- I love you Rhonda!

Happy Birthday!!!

He must have been mentored by a great dad to know how to treat a lady.
